Decompression plate, barrel base, Norton Atlas Commando, 0.028in

Norton Atlas / Commando 750 barrel base decompression plate, 0.028inch. Note: De-compression plates are fitted beneath the cylinder barrel and are used to lower the compression perhaps to aid starting but also to accommodate poor quality fuel or simply to reduce the strain on the engine when ultimate performance is not required.  De-compression plates should be used with a gasket either side and the combined resulting thickness will reduce the compression ratio by approximately 1 ratio.
